I am currently on thyroid medication, but I don't feel like my medications are working. What should I do?
When you feel like your thyroid medication isn’t working, and you’re not getting the results you want, the first thing you should do is talk to a doctor who really understands Thyroid physiology and is willing to do in-depth testing and in-depth analysis to figure out where the root cause of the problem is.
Finding the Root Cause of Thyroid Problems
If doctors are just testing you to figure out what drug to put you on the question is if that is even relevant to your issue. I understand that medicine has its place, (I’m not a medical doctor that’s not what I do), but it is necessary to find and correct the issue in order to save your life in the short term.
You will need to find someone who really understands what thyroid physiology is about, where systems can be broken, and how to do the appropriate testing.
Then you take a pragmatic approach and get things done in order to really get you to where you want to be, which is optimal health – not being tired, not having trouble sleeping, and not having mood swings to feel healthy every day.
